Faye Beatty Thorpe passed away December 2, 2007.

She was born on August 5, 1932 in Roseboro, NC and was the daughter of the late James Mavin Beatty and Lillian Parsons Beatty.

She moved to Wilmington to attend James Walker School of Nursing where she graduated in 1953. She met and married the late James Lawrence Thorpe of Wilmington , NC.

Faye is survived by her two daughters Wanda Elizabeth Thorpe and Allison Faye Thorpe of Wilmington, brothers J M Beatty and wife Linda Sorrels Beatty, Roseboro, NC, sisters Barbara Ann Beatty, Clinton, NC, and Clarice Beatty Mitchell, Fayetteville, NC, brother in law Linwood Thorpe and his wife Libby, Wilmington, NC,numerous aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

A memorial service and reception to celebrate her life will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, 3788 Shipyard Blvd with Reverend Terry Leigh Buckner officiating.

The family and friends would like to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent care they provided.

Faye was an independent thinker. Her quick wit, love and laughter were infectious. She touched many lives. A quote from her college annual summed her up pretty well…

“They made her, and threw away the pattern”

She was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
