    Noel Dunivant says:
I was deeply saddened to learn of Tommy's death and regret that I'm in Boston and will be unable to attend his funeral. Tommy and I shared many memorable experiences. We attended Boy Scout outings, were all-conference guard and center on the Wolfpack teams of 63-65, and were roommates at UNC for a couple of years. We shared some great adventures. Tommy was always a good friend and a good person. His death is a loss to all of us. My sympathies to his family, Noel
