Syble Bannister McCoy


Syble B. McCoy, age 98, went to be with her Savior on Oct. 21, 2011 at Ocean Trail Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Southport NC. Born and raised in Belton SC, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Maude Bannister, and widow of the late Oscar Joseph McCoy.

She is survived by daughter Elizabeth Worley of Augusta GA, daughter Syliva Martin and son in law William Martin of Williamston SC, son, Roger McCoy and daughter in law Annette McCoy of Shallotte NC. Sisters Sue Reed of Belton SC, Margie Walker of Spartanburg SC, sister in law, Mattie Lee Bannister of Belton, SC. 10 grand children and 5 great grand children.
She was predeceased by a son Billy Ray McCoy of Columbia SC and a daughter Cindy Davenport of Williamston,SC.

Syble’s life was characterized by love of family and friends with a contagious smile that brightened the room. She contributed her longevity to butterfingers and candy bars. She was a member of the Church of God in Williamston SC .

Memorial services will be held at a later date in South Carolina. The family is at her son’s home, Roger McCoy, in Shallotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the First Baptist Church of Shallotte for the Debt Reduction Fund. Words can not express the love our family has for the staff of Ocean Trail Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Southport NC, and we thank everybody for their support during this difficult time.
