Patricia Ann Mitchell Schotten 71, of Wilmington died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

Patricia was born on June 15, 1939 in Chinquapin the daughter of the late Daniel Mitchell and mother Mary Lee Dale Mitchell who resides in Leland.

Surviving in addition to her mother are three children; Broke Godwin of Castle Hayne, Sharon Schotten & Michael Schotten both of Maine, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great grandchild a week away, She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, also the last two men in her life who she loved dearly Timothy Godwin and George Casing, to whose friendship brought her much joy, and her loving pet Rocky and sidekick Sweet Pea.

    Pat was a dear friend when I needed one. I worked with her at Sambo's and she shared her home with me. She was a gracious person who I loved greatly. I'm so sorry that I lost touch with her and didn't get the opportunity to tell her just how much I cared for her and appreciated her generosity. She was a loving individual with a huge personality and will be missed greatly. So sorry to hear of your loss.
