Mrs. Mary “Bernice” Holmes Causey Williams, 76, of Leland, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Wilmington.

Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late William “Henry” Holmes and Emma Hardee Holmes Collins. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie A. Causey Hewett.

She was a member of Elah Baptist Church for over 40 years and loved flower and vegetable gardening; and enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Thomas Williams; three daughters, Debra K. Causey Sullivan Badillo and spouse, David of Leland, Belinda Williams Joyner and spouse, Buddy of Wilmington and Adrienne “Ginger” Williams Bostic of Wilmington, one son, Elbert Lynn Causey and wife, Nancy of Madison, GA; granddaughters, Stephanie A. Sullivan; grandsons, Cory A. Sullivan and wife, Nicole, W. Jason Causey, Jarrad B. Joyner, Gregory T. Joyner, Wesley A. Bostic, and Brandon C. Bostic; great-granddaughters, Chelsy N. Godwin and Anna M. Sullivan; brothers, William Anthon Holmes and wife, Sarah and Lloyd Allen Holmes and wife Mary all of Lexington, SC, Henry Edward Holmes and wife, Patricia of Chapin, SC; and one sister, Shelby Jane Holmes Anderson of Conway, SC.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 23 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Village Road Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 26, 2011 at Elah Baptist Church, 1525 Old Fayetteville Road. The Rev. Jack Miller will officiate. Interment will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington.
