Marvin Miller


Marvin Miller, 68 a longtime resident of Middle Sound, died Thursday evening September 9, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Marvin was born in Rockingham County, VA January 18, 1942 the son of the Late George Richard Miller and surviving mother Annie Belle Rodgers Miller of Mt. Crawford, VA.
He was also preceded in death by sisters Geneva Frances Miller and Nina Gray Bishop.

He was the retired owner and operator of Marvin Miller Construction Company, and a charter member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church.

In additional to his mother, Marvin is survived by his wife of 48 years Patsy Spivey Miller, his children LeAnn M. Todd, Sherry M. Mayes and husband Kevin, Bryan Todd, grandchildren Trevor and Hannah Todd, Mother-in-law (Grandma) Ruby Spivey, sister-in-law Linda Rodgers all of Middle Sound. Also surviving are brothers Harry and wife Dawn, Richard and wife Barbara, Howard (Fuzzy) and wife Lisha, sisters Ethel Jane Cubbage and husband Roy, Tammy Shank and husband Richard all of Virginia, a multitude of nephews, nieces and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday September 13, 2010 at Scotts Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Suggs, Reverend Jim Dunn and Pastor Howard Miller officiating the service. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 6:00 P.M at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service.

    I JUST WAN'T TO SAY THAT I SURE HAD A FANTASTIC BROTHER.I THANK GOD THAT I HAD HIM FOR 68 YEARS. I WISH IT GOULD HAVE BEEN LONGER.I GUESS JESUS NEEDED ANOTHER HELPER I SURE WAS PROD OF HIM AND HIS CHRIITAN WALK WITH THE LORD.HE USEDED TO SHARE WITH ME THING ABOUT THE BIBLE.I TALKED TO HIM LOT ABOUT ALL THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD GROWING UP.
