Larry Thomas Powell, 51 of Wilmington died Wednesday September 19, 2007 at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Larry was born on September 3, 1956 in the District of Columbia to Thomas Alford Powell and Dorothy Smith Powell.

He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Alford Powell and his brother Jerry Dean Powell.

Survivors are his mother Dorothy S. Powell, his daughter Rebecca Jo Powell, granddaughter Emily Ann Powell, sisters Joyce E. Sweeney and husband Gary, Janice L. Sims and Paulette P. Allison and husband Donald.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M Saturday September 22, 2007 at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service with Reverend Steve Hall officiating.

    I am so sorry May the God who gives us this comfort be with the family at this time. US Obituaries for your loss , Loosing a loved one is traumatic and very difficult. However the Bible says at Rev. 21:4 - “ And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
