John Adam Peacock, III, 52, of Oak Island formerly of Salisbury, NC died Monday May 25, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Born May 17, 1957 in Salisbury, he is the son of Sophia Poole Peacock of Salisbury and the late J. A. Peacock, Jr. A graduate of North Rowan High School and Rowan Technical Institute (now Rowan-Cabarrus Community College); he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
A member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Mr. Peacock was employed by the Brunswick County School System.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ruth and Ralph Poole and Adam and Rachel Peacock.
Survivors include his son, John Adam Peacock, IV (Ashley) of Oak Island; daughter, Sophia Elaine Moss (Glen) of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, June P. Miller (Mike) of Shelby, Joan P. Harbin (Tony) of Orange Park, FL, Jill P. Maynor (Larry) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Isaiah Adam Peacock, Elijah Lucian Cooke, Sophia Lynn Peacock and step-grandchild, Matthew Cumming.
Memorial service: 11:00 AM – Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Julie O’Neal officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
