Loretta Faye Gore 66, of Wilmington died Monday July 4, 2011 at her home.

Faye was born in Craven County September 7, 1944 the daughter of the late James Henry and Nannie Mae Enright Smith. She was also predeceased in death by her daughter Rhonda Carpio.

Surviving are Pop Marion Knowles and wife Alma, son Todd Guthrie, daughter Cassie Lee, Pamela and Jill Bell, brothers James A. Smith and wife Patricia, Ricky Knowles and wife Inger, sisters Margie Stephens, Dianne Smith, JoAnne Sykes and husband Jim, and Debra Everson, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at Wilmington Funeral Chapel 10 AM Thursday July 7, 2011. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will see friends 6PM until 8PM Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

    Faye was a special Lady to me. Always full of the Lord, and an example anyone could live by. Charlene and I will miss her, but are sure she is with Jesus, and smiling down on each and everyone of her loved ones. Don't be sorry she is gone, but be happy she now has a home in Heaven. We should live our lives so that one day we too will be in Heaven.......Lots of LOVE Chuckie
