Cheryl Lynn Spencer-Beck 53, of Kure Beach died Sunday June 29, 2008 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born August 8, 1954 the daughter of the late James A. Roney, Jr. and Marribelle W. Hissong Roney. She was an employee of New Hanover County School systems and was the Assistant Principle of Lakeside High School.

Surviving are her husband of 25 years Kevin Beck; son Christopher M. Spencer and wife Veronica of San-Antonio, TX. daughter Jessica Catherine Beck of Kure Beach; sisters Barbara Green and husband Rick of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Alma C. Fewlass and husband Carroll Summerville of Rose Hill, KS and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family suggest memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Kure Beach Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall 202 S. 6th street Kure Beach to celebrate Cheryl’s life, and at other times at the family home.
