Bobby Glenn Luther 71, of Wilmington died Tuesday January 3, 2012 at his home.
Bobby was born in Asheville, NC on March 22, 1940. Mr. Luther Joined Temple Baptist Church at a very early age. He was faithful and continuous member of both Temple Baptist and St. Pauls Episcopal Church until his health declined. Mr. Luther spent all of his life being an avid train and animal lover. For many years, he worked and retired from Textilease were he meet many friends and acquaintances. Bobby had a vibrant spark that attracted everyone. His sweet personality did not allow him to meet any strangers, who were always enlightened about his love of trains and his “Miss Cindy.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Frances Sloan Luther, his grandfather, Robert C. Sloan and a very special friend, Betty Aranow.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: His baby, “Miss Cindy”; his cousins, Joseph Sloan of West Palm Beach, Fla., William Sloan (Ann Marie) of Pensacola, Fla. and Robert Sloan (Lori) of Wilmington, NC., a special loved one, Camesha L. Richardson and her son, Ian; devoted friends, John Morton and The Musser Family; special caregivers, Jessica Julian, Pamela Kelley, Jackie Brown and Ebony Butcher and a host of other friends

Funeral service 11:00 AM Friday January 6, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
