Adele Frunzi – Teachey

April 27, 1951 - February 21, 2010
Adele Frunzi – Teachey

Adele A. Frunzi-Teachey 58, of Wilmington, NC formerly of Philadelphia, Pa died 1:50 A.M, Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter after a long and courageous battle with metastatic endometrial cancer.

She was the beloved wife of William Teachey and dear sister of Diana M. Frunzi of Horsham, Pa.

Adele was born April 27, 1951 in Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia, eldest child of Edward and Diana Frunzi. She graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and received her Masters from St. Josephs University. She worked many years as a Chemical Engineer at the Cape Fear DuPont Plant, where she met her husband William. She was a force of nature and will be remembered by her family and friends for her unending zest for life. Adele lived every day of her life like it was a party; even towards the end through tremendous suffering, her sense of humor remained in tact. She always had a soft spot in her heart for animals, and leaves behind her two Calico cats Pinky and Mickey and several Cockatiels.

A celebration of her Adele’s life will be held this spring.

    Mary Lou Tillman says:
Wow! I spent 4 years in Spanish class with Adele, and in there and out of class, she was so energetic. I greatly admired her. And when we had our reunion last March, she was the one person I wondered about. She, if she could, would have been the spitfire at our reunion. Miss you greatly Adele. I'll see you again some day with your dynamic energy in Heaven.

    Karen M. Fleming Schuler says:
Adele, my friend and classmate at MSJA, 1969, was truly one of the most entertaining girls at the Mount. I have lost touch over the years due to distance and life. When I think of her and I just smile. She was always full of love and life. I pray for her family and friends that God will provide the strength to cope w/ your loss. I am sure she will be dearly missed. God speed, Adele.

    Rosemary Anderson says:
March 01, 2010 Adele was an honorary member of the Mount Airy crowd, so I had the privilege of spending time with her outside of school. She was the life of every gathering, always positive and giving. -Rosemary Foster Anderson (Class of '69)
